This eighteenth-century house was somewhat enlarged in the mid 20th century to accommodate the first director of the Winterthur Museum, who had briefly occupied it with his family. In later years, HF DuPont’s daughter used it as residence for her and her family during many extended visits.
In 2015, R G Architects was asked to prepare restoration design documents for the cottage’s garden side porch, a wonderfully detailed and elegant design by Ch O. Cornelius, while the east porch required extensive structural repairs, and new railings.
