In 2018 UD demolished the crumbling Taylor Hall Annex in favor of additional surface parking. As part of this work it was determined that there must be an entrance to underground steam piping tunnels below the building. As a result, a new building, or “shed”, was required to be constructed on top of the tunnel access. The new “Tunnel Entrance Building” was designed to be aesthetically similar to it's historic neighbor, Taylor Hall, constructed in 1905 as part of the original Delaware College.
