Brown Hall is a residence hall named in memory of H. Fletcher Brown, a member of the University's Board of Trustees (1929-44) and a benefactor. The 4-story, 30,500s.f. building was constructed in 1941. In 2018 R G Architects was retained to renovate the dormitory as part of a much larger HVAC improvement project. Similar to its sister building, Sypherd Hall, that RGA was hired to renovate in 2016, we designed renovations for improvements to all of the bathrooms and showers, replacing a good portion of the ceilings due to the heating and air conditioning system improvements, replacing flooring, replacing all exterior windows and exterior doors, repointing most of the brick veneer, and restoring all exterior marble. The project should start construction in June 2019 and be complete by 2020.
