R G Architects, in association with L.R. Kimball, provided comprehensive preliminary design services to the State of Delaware for the potential construction of a new 30,000 square foot State Police facility located on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, Delaware. RGA spearheaded the planning process, collaborating with, and coordinated the needs of, the project stakeholders to develop a space needs analysis, schematic site plan and building design, as well as construction cost estimates.
The main building incorporates space for Evidence Processing & Storage, Arrest Processing and Holding, Troop Support Areas, Secure Interview Rooms, Administrative Offices for up to a staff of 15, and a Community Room to accommodate events with up to 100 participants.
In addition to the Troop 6 Main Building, the complex is to include a Vehicle Maintenance and Evidence Storage Building, which provides drive-thru bays for vehicles, boats, and trailers for the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (EOD) and the Marine Self Contained Underwater Breaking Apparatus Unit (SCUBA).
